Tips & Tricks from IT Pros

About Me

Hi, I’m Bill Clark, and I write Bits of Tech to share tips & tricks related to computers and IT that I find helpful in my day to day job. I work on the IT team in the North Atlantic region of a Fortune 500 company. In my nearly 10 years in this position, I have been responsible for desktop, notebook, and server support, as well as wired & wireless network infrastructure, e-mail administration, Active Directory management, and managing our mobile phone accounts.

I have extensive experience with all versions of Microsoft Windows, both desktop and server, and have some experience with Ubuntu Server and SCO OpenServer 5.0.x. I also have experience with Cisco LAN network gear.

At home, I’ve recently switched my primary computing platform from Windows to Mac OS X when I purchased my first MacBook. The first computer I purchased on my own when I was younger was a PowerMac 6100/66, but in college made the move over to Windows 95. While I still have the desktop PC I built running Windows 7 RC, I’ve been using my Windows and Mac laptops more heavily than the desktop.

If you have any questions, or would like to see a post on a particular topic, feel free to send me an email using the contact form at the bottom of this page. I’m also on Twitter as @bill_clark.

Thanks for visiting Bits of Tech!
